Our Eco Stoves

Open fires and wood burning stoves have been a major contributor to poor air quality, particularly in larger cities.  Some urban areas within the UK are designated smokeless zones and only DEFRA approved stoves are permitted. 

Furthermore, legislation has been introduced in 2022 that restricts the sale of all but the cleanest, most efficient stoves. These stoves are described as “eco” stoves, as they produce 90% less emissions than an open fire and up to 80% less emissions than a typical 10-year-old stove.

As a business we have made a conscious decision to ensure the stoves we offer have the highest environmental credentials possible. 

At Sussex Woodburners we decided that from day one that we would only supply and fit DEFRA approved stoves or the even cleaner “eco-ready” stoves.
